Frank Braeken is a member of the Board of Swiss engineering group Buhler, South African listed FMCG Tiger Brands, Zambia based agro business Zambeef, AECF (Africa Enterprise Catalytic Fund), Alliance for Green Revolutionary in Africa (Kenya) and Marie Stopes International (UK), as well as Black Volta Ventures.
Based in Dubai, Braeken is a Belgian national with an extensive career spanning over 30 years in various sectors. He has deep FMCG and emerging markets experience, Braeken was the Executive Vice President for Unilever Africa, a US$5bn revenue food and consumer product business, Group Vice President China Region, Managing Director of Unilever Foods France, and other positions. Frank’s Unilever career spans over 24 years and covers all major functional roles and business lines.
Other previous roles include Executive Chairman of Feronia Inc, a Toronto listed palm oil producer on the African continent, a function he occupied for 3 years – Chief Investment Officer of Amatheon Agri Holding and a short stint at Procter & Gamble.
Braeken graduated with a degree in Law and holds an MBA degree in Finance from the University of Leuven (Belgium). He is an alumnus of the Wharton Executive Program, Penn University (Philadelphia/USA).
